Check Out Top 10 Richest Club Owners In The English Premier League Currently

The richest owners in the Premier League have been ranked from one to 10, with Manchester United’s Glazer family coming in ninth.

 

On Monday, a consortium led by LA Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly sealed a £4.25 billion takeover of Chelsea, bringing in the newest set of top-flight executives.

To take over from Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, the American businessman has teamed up with Clearlake Capital, fellow co-owner Mark Walter, and Swiss tycoon Hansjorg Wass to form a new ownership panel.

 

Following Boehly’s announcement, I prepared a list of the top 10 Premier League owners based on claims from The SunTalkSport, and The Mirror, with Chelsea leapfrogging Arsenal into third place thanks to the consortium’s extra £4 billion in assets.

The top ten richest owners in the EPL are listed below:

 

1. Saudi Public Investment Fund (Newcastle United) (£320 billion)

Newcastle united by the investment of the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund became the richest premier league club. His owner Mohammad Bin Salman tops the Richest Premier League Club Owners list.

 

The £300 million ($413.89 million) takeover is backed by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad Bin Salman. He is the country’s second most important person.

The Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund is estimated to be worth £320 billion. They are backed by the crown prince of Saudi Arabia. They are set to make massive investments in the years to come.

 

2. Sheikh Mansour (Manchester City) (£22.9 billion)

Sheikh Mansour became the owner of Manchester City Fc in 2008. Since 2008, Manchester City has established itself as a dominant force in England. He has invested millions into the project.

 

He has projected the club to be one of the most successful clubs in the English Premier League. His investment resulted in five Premier League titles and a Champions League final in 13 years.

The Emirati’s wealth has been amassed through the oil industry. Moreover, he has spread his wealth around a number of different investments.

 

3. Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital (Chelsea) (£10.86 billion)

 

4. Stan Kroenke (Arsenal) (£6.35 billion)

Stan Kroenke is an American billionaire. He also owns the Kroenke Sports Company (KSE). His Company includes Arsenal and a number of teams from different sports and leagues.

However, they have been calls from Arsenal fans to sell the club due to Kroenke’s lack of communication.

 

5. Shahid Khan (Fulham) (£5.8 billion)

 

6. Nassef Sawiris (Aston Villa) (£5.3 billion)

Nassef Sawiris, a businessman from Egypt’s wealthiest family is the owner of Aston Villa. Sawiris made his fortune in the construction industry. He is one of the richest Africans in the world, according to Forbes.

Sawiris became involved in the running of Aston Villa in 2018, taking over from Tony Xia.

 

7. Guo Guangchang (Wolverhampton Wanderers) (£4.5 billion)

 

8. Joe Lewis (£3.6 billion) (Tottenham Hotspur)

 

9. The Glazers (Manchester United) (£3.5 billion)

 

Malcom Glazer masterminded the $1.47 billion takeovers of Manchester United in 2005 using the money he earned in real estate, banking and healthcare to gradually buy out United shareholders. He was also the president and chief executive officer of First Allied Corporation.

Some Manchester United fans opposed Glazer’s takeover of the club, particularly once they realised the level of debt that the club would have to take on after having been debt-free for so many years.

 

10. Joshua Harris (£3.36 billion) (Crystal Palace).

One of the richest English Premier League club owners, Joshua Harris is an American private equity investor who co-founded Apollo Global Management, one of the largest alternative investive firms. He owns an 18% stake in Crystal Palace, the same amount as both David Blitzer and Steve Parish.

He also owns shares in the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils.
