1. Jay-Z and Beyoncé
Jay-Z and Beyoncé are regarded as some of the most popular musicians in the world. The famous American rapper, songwriter, and businessman, Shawn Coney Carter, popularly known as Jay-Z visited Nigeria with his Superstar wife, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter in 2006.
The reason for the visit is because the then-Governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki invited the rapper, to come and commission a road in the state, which was later named after the rapper.
2. R. Kelly
Famous R&B Singer, Robert Sylvester Kelly, professionally known as R.Kelly visited Nigeria in 2009 on his African tour. He performed in Abuja and Lagos, and the fans who attended the musical event weren’t disappointed by his performance.
3. Chris Brown
Back in 2012, American Hip-Hop singer, Chris Brown visited Nigeria while he was on his African tour. The event was held at the Expo Center of the Eko Hotel in Victoria Island.
Fans also got the opportunity to see the iconic singer, pairing with some famous Nigerian musicians.
4. J Cole
Back in 2018, prominent American rapper, J.Cole visited Nigeria after he was invited to the Castle Light Unlock Concert in Lagos. The concert was held at Eko hotel and the huge turnout for the show was massive.
There were so many highlights from the events, but one that stood out was the fact that J. Cole performed wearing the Nigerian jersey.
5. Cardi B
Grammy award-winning rapper, Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, professionally known as Cardi B, visited Nigeria in December 2019 for the Livespot Music Festival. During her stay in Nigeria, Cardi B ensured she captured the hearts of Nigerians by adopting a Nigerian name for herself and her child and also donating to the orphanage home.
