Popular Yoruba actress, Ronke Oshodi Oke has replied fellow actor, Pete Edochie condeming his opinion that men should not kneel down to propose to women.
Recall that the veteran actor Pete Edochie has once said that a man is not just an idiot but a bloody fool if he goes down on his knees to propose to a girl.
The actor who described the act as a sancrosanctity of our culture, revealed that the idea was adopted from the white men.
In his words;
Any young man who gets down on his knees to propose to a girl is not just an idiot, he is a bloody fool, a compound buffoon. We try to copy white people.
I believe in the sancrosanctity of our culture, the essence and the core of our culture. The white man knees down to propose to a girl. You know what it means, the girl takes over the family. This is why whenever you disagree with a wife oversea, you are kicked out and your wife takes the house.
Young men who should be in charge of their destinies hand it over to women. That makes you all fools.”
Back to an interview with ‘The Culture Newspaper‘, Ronke Oshodi, Yoruba Nollywood actress has kicked back about this statement from the veteran actor where she revealed that Pete Edochie is an old man and his opinion is expected of him.
“He is an old man, what do you expect?” she said.
