‘For the first time in a long while, I find nothing to be cheerful about’ Actor Richard Mofe-Damijo in sorrow

Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo has expressed displeasure over the current situation of the country.

In a post shared on Instagram, the actor said for the first time in a long time, he finds nothing to be cheerful about in Nigeria.

According to the actor, there are too many records of the death of people close to him, the killing of people in Nigeria and uncertainty holds everyone a ransom.

The veteran actor describes the current situation of Nigeria as a play of despair and desolation that needs God’s divine intervention.

Sharing a photo of himself in a sorrowful state, he wrote: For the first time in a very long while, I find nothing to be cheerful about. Too many deaths of even people I know, not to mention the national carnage.
Uncertainty holds us all ransom. If ever the use of “The Hand of God” in theatre is more needed, it is now, in this Nigerian Play of Despair and Desolation. Divine intervention, where you dey? We are at our wit’s end surely!

Newsnownaija recalls that in a recent post shared on his Instagram page, the actor reveals he had always wanted to wear an earring for some time now as he believes they are cool if one finds the right one.

However, on his 50th birthday, he had threatened to wear an earring but was sceptical about how residents of his state would feel about a commissioner earing an earring.

Ten years later, according to the actor, he still yearns about wearing an earring, and he has chosen to wear it irrespective of what people may say or think about him.

Sharing photos of himself while rocking an earring, he wrote: I’ve always wanted to wear an earring for some time now. I personally think they are so cool if you find the right one. When I was turning 50, I had threatened to wear one, but I wasn’t too sure how the people of Delta state would feel about an earring wearing commissioner.

10 years later I still want to wear it. I will.

I will be 60 in a few weeks, and I have grown wings.

I’m in my house if you have a problem you know where to find me
