One of the people who should be grateful to God is Adeyela Adebola, popularly known as ‘Omo Ibadan or Lizzy Jay’, she rose to fame in a short time.
In this article, I will be sharing with you how this amazing young lady started making comedy skits after she was denied admission into Obafemi Awolowo University, till the skits catapulted her into the Nollywood industry.
Many people don’t know she is not from Ibadan, Oyo State because of her nickname. Well, you might not know her origin, she was born in Ile-Ife, Osun State, where she had her primary and secondary school education. She applied to study Microbiology at Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, Osun State in 2017, but she was denied admission. After that, she was depressed and couldn’t know what to do with her life.
She would stay at home alone when everybody has gone to their various workplaces, She started making comedy skits with her phone, uploading them on Facebook and Instagram. She became popular after uploading a video titled, “how girls from different states sleep”. However, this very funny video attracted people’s attention on both Facebook and Instagram.
She later gained admission to study microbiology at Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State. And she continued making her comedy skits during her ND program. Before she finished her ND program, she has already become popular on social media with a stage name, “Omo Ibadan coaching center”.
She relocated to Lagos after her education to join the Nollywood industry. It was easy for her to get movie roles as a comic actress since she is a well-known comedian on social media.
The 26-year-old lady is now a popular actress, Nigerian comedian, Model, singer, and brand influencer. She has featured in more than 20 Nollywood movies.
Motivation: Don’t waste your time, and be creative in nature. If Lizzy Jay didn’t start making comedy skits after she was denied admission, she might have not become a popular Nollywood actress today.
