Meet The Popular Yoruba Singer Who Sold His Guitar For N52 Million Within 15 Minutes (PHOTOS)

For a celebrity superstar, almost everything about them is gold, as they can auction out their wears, accessories or even sell their autographs for millions of naira.

Auctioning is not a new thing because it is another means for most of our celebrities to make money, since they can easily come out to auction some of their personal accessories for millions of naira, which hundreds of people will pay for with minutes.

One of the most popular auctions happened in 2011, when the jacket that Michael Jackson wore in his famous Thriller video was sold for about $2m.

So also, a Nigerian superstar singer did the same thing, as his music guitar was sold for over $100,000 (approx N52million) using the current exchange rate.

Without further ado, we will be talking about Sunny Ade, a popular Yoruba musician who sold his music guitar for N52 million in just 15 minutes.

In December 2016, a vintage Fender guitar once owned by King Sunny Ade was sold in Lagos for N52.1 million. The guitar was designed by Nigerian artist, Victor Ehikamenor and auctioned by Jogun Onabanjo, a Certified Auctioneer and Chief Executive of Onabanjo and Onabanjo & Co.

The gleaming creative creation was unveiled at King Sunny Ade’s 70th birthday event in front of an audience of Nigeria’s wealthiest and most prominent figures.

The well-heeled crowd, which included renowned businessmen such as Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola, began with a low price of N9 million which increased to N17 million in under two minutes. It then surpassed the N50 million milestone in just 15 minutes with the highest bidder taking it him with a bid of N52 million.

What’s your thoughts on this? Is N52 million too much for the music guitar of a legend like Sunny Ade?
