‘Never Compare King Promise to Davido, OBO is Far Bigger Than Him’- Nigerians On Social Media Bark At Ghanaians

Nigerians and Ghanaians are at each other’s throat on Facebook over a publication suggesting that King Promise is in the same league as Nigeria’s Davido.

The fierce, albeit interesting conversation was sparked days ago by Good Evening Ghana host, Paul Adom-Otchere who pitched Ghanaian artists against their Nigerian counterparts.

While hosting entertainment connoisseurs in his studios at Metropolitan TV (Metro TV) namely Mr. Logic, Kwame Dadzie, Andy Dosty and Randy Abbey- Paul sought to find out why Nigerian musicians seem to be far ahead of Ghanaians in all facets albeit he reckons artists from Ghana are talented.

His posture was vehemently opposed by Andy Dosty who told him plainly that it’s never true that Nigerian musicians are better than our homegrown stars except that they have a bigger audience and have a different approach to their craft and music industry as a whole.

While netizens were throwing in their own opinions into the mix from their volatile ‘one corner’, one Nigerian fan popped up to suggest that it will be a “travesty of justice” for King Promise, who burst onto the scene recently to be compared to the more experienced and multiple award winning OBO who marked a decade in the music industry this year.

Identified as Prince Obinna, the young man derogatorily said King Promise is still an emerging artist who should pitched against Peruzzi and not the ‘almighty’ Davido.
