Obafemi Awolowo University welcomed reality star cum rapper Olamilekan Agbeleshe, popularly known as Laycon for musical performance last night, 7th of August 2021. The rapper was hosted by popular comedian Shank Comics and the event was coordinated by the CEO of OAU Peeps Media, Farombi Oluwaseun popularly known as Babafaros.

The show held at Oduduwa Hall, a 3000-capacity hall located in the heart of the academics area of the school campus. Students and fans were required to get tickets of N1000 for regular seats and N5000 for those who want the VIP treatments.
The show started around 5pm with some of the finest acts who showcased their talents to entertain the audience before the headliner, Laycon arrived for his performance. O.A.U finest artistes who performed before Laycon were Kheemoyah, EWA, Virus Da Viper amongst others. Twitter Influencer cum O.A.U Alumnus, Shank Comics also graced the event as a co-anchor of the show.
The show headliner, Laycon entered around 10:20pm last night and the crowd screamed at the peak of their voices when they saw him. The atmosphere in the hall changed effective immediately as Laycon took to the stage to start his performance. During his performance, there are a number of things that happened which proved that Laycon is dearly loved.
Three noticeable things that I observed during Laycon’s performance in O.A.U last night which show that he’s dearly loved.
1. While Laycon was performing, hundreds of fans took to the podium as they overwhelmed the bouncers just to take pictures with Laycon and also see him at a close range. The podium was filled with joyous fans who wanted to see Laycon by all means.

2. The 3000-capacity Oduduwa hall was sold-out and full to the brim as thousands of people from within and outside the campus stormed the venue just to watch Laycon perform. I also met a couple of people who said they travelled from different states like Ogun State just to see Laycon perform.

The fact that people travelled from different states and paid for tickets prove to watch Laycon yesterday proves that he is dearly loved.
3. Even though the show was not so orderly, the great O.A.U Awo Boys led by Opa and Opa Kume prostrated flat in front of Laycon to show him respect. These O.A.U Awo Boys hardly prostrate for anyone in fact, they make artistes prostrates for them instead. But, reverse was the case with Laycon last night. They also apologized to Laycon for being disorderly.
