#1. Simi

Simisola “Simi” Ogunleye, born April 19, 1988, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress.

 

She started her career as a gospel singer, releasing her debut studio album in 2008, titled Ogaju. She gained prominence in 2014 after releasing ” Tiff “, a song that was nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies 2015. Simi signed a record deal with X3M Music in 2014, but left the label in May 2019 following the expiration of her contract. She released her second studio album Simisola on September 8, 2017. Her third studio album Omo Charlie Champagne, Vol. 1 was released to coincide with her thirty-first birthday on April 19, 2019. She launched her record label Studio Brat in June 2019.

 

Simi was born in Ojuelegba , a suburb of Surulere, as the last of four children. In an interview with Juliet Ebirim of Vanguard newspaper, Simi revealed that her parents separated when she was 9 years old. She also revealed that she grew up as a tomboy.Simi attended Stars International College, a secondary school in Ikorodu, Lagos State. She is an alumnus of Covenant University, where she studied mass communication.

Nonso Amadi was born on September 1, 1995, to Nigerian parents. Nonso grew up in Nigeria and however, comes from a traditional large Nigerian home, he is the third of a family of seven.

 

He embarked on his music career in 2012 while at Covenant University where he studied BSc. Chemical Engineering . In 2014, he discontinued studying in Nigeria and moved to Swansea University , U.K. and completed his degree. He is now a master’s degree holder from McMaster’s University , Canada.

 

In 2015, Nonso Amadi released his first EP, ‘ Alone ‘ and just a few months later he put out a follow up single known as “ Tonight” which was basically the beginning of stardom for the singer. The song was hugely accepted by his fans and he gained a new fan base in Nigeria.

Chike-Ezekpeazu Osebuka, born 28 January 1993, popularly known by his stage name CHIKE is a singer, songwriter and actor known for his participation on the Nigerian reality competition Project Fame West Africa in 2015 and also in the talent competition TV show The Voice Nigeria Season 1 finishing runner-up on the show. Chike is an ambassador for Airtel Nigeria. Chike made his acting debut as Mayowa Badmus on the Africa Magic Showcase telenovela Battleground.

 

Chike is a native of Onitsha, Anambra State in Nigeria. He comes from a family of four children. He is a graduate of Computer Engineering from Covenant University. He comes from a musically talented family and so had the passion to take up music as a career.

Chukwunonso Bassey, popularly known as Nonso Bassey, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, actor and model. He finished as a top 8 finalist in the maiden edition of The Voice Nigeria and is signed to Universal Music Group Nigeria. He is also a major cast member on Africa Magic TV’s telenovella, Battleground.

 

Bassey was born in Calabar to an Ibo father from Imo and an Efik mother from Cross River State.He is the second child of 6 children. He is the only son. And has 5 sisters.

He attended Madonna Montessori school and then moved to Calabar Preparatory International School. And then to Nigerian Navy Primary School.

 

In 2000, he gained admission to the University of Calabar International Secondary School, Calabar and graduated in 2006. Hassani graduated from Covenant University in Nigeria . He attended the University of Surrey , where he earned a master’s degree in energy economics.

Hassani released his debut album The African Gentleman in 2016. He is said to have a dress style that is influenced by his self-acclaimed stance as a gentleman.

 

Hassani was nominated in three categories at the 2016 All Africa Music Awards : Best Artiste in African R&B and Soul, Video of the Year, and Most Promising Artiste.He also received two nominations at The Headies 2016 , including Best Alternative Song for “Gentleman”.
