‘A Good Name is Better’- Man Says As He Returns ₦2.5m Mistakenly Transferred To His Account

A man has reinforced the maxim, ‘A good name is better than riches’ by returning a whopping ₦2.5m mistakenly transferred into his bank account.

According to the man identified on Facebook as Julius Eze, he received a total credit alert of ₦2.5m on his Access bank account between Friday evening and Saturday morning.

The young man said upon realizing the mistake from the other end, he promised the owner to have the full amount credited to his account the next day which he actually did.

He shared his experience in a series of Facebook posts saying;

“N2.5m was mistakenly transferred to my account

I contacted the owner already. I will be transferring the money back to him first thing tomorrow morning through bank cheque cos I can’t access the account via app! I dey bank! It’s not my money.

Late Friday evening and early Saturday morning, I received alert totaling N2.5m into my access account, few hours later I was able to trace the owner.

Contacted him and asked him for his details so I can pay in the money today, after due questions and investigations which confirmed the money belonged to him.

I will update you with alert screenshot when the money is pulled out! Thanks for staying with me!

As of 01:05 pm! Transition done.

I feel emotional right now. There are decisions you take that attract extra measure!. It takes faithfulness and integrity to do this. I’m super proud of myself and the family I came from! A good name is better than ill-gotten wealth. You decide what to do but you don’t decide the consequences! Be you!!!”
