“He Cost Us The Cup” – Liverpool Fans Blame Star Player For UCL Loss Against Real Madrid

It was an entertaining Champions League final in Paris between two European giants. Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 1-0 to win the 2021/2022 Champions League, thanks to Vinicius Junior second half goal.

Although Liverpool played well and dominated possession but a moment of distraction cost them the game. The Reds recorded over 20 attempts but Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois was on top form as he made eight saves In the game.

 

Real Madrid have already won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, defeating Chelsea in both competition but their dream of winning quadruple was dashed by Real Madrid and Man City.

Liverpool season is officially over and they have two domestic cups to show for it.

Liverpool could have won today’s game but failed to take their chances as they missed a lot of goal scoring opportunities in the game. The main culprit of the game was Trent Alexander-Arnold who was found wanting in his defensive duty.

 

Liverpool fans disappointed with Arnold?

Trent Alexander-Arnold is a great fullback who thrive offensively but often struggles defensively. He spent much time high on the pitch, leaving enough spaces for the opposition players to capitalize on the counter.

 

He made a big mistake that cost Liverpool the game. Loss of concentration and poor defensive awareness cost Liverpool when Arnold failed to read Valverde pass to Vinicius. Failing to intercept Valverde pass led to Vinicius Junior goal that eventually won the trophy for Real Madrid.
