The 2022 FIFA World Cup will kick off in Qatar and for the first time it will be held in November/December as opposed to June/July.

Some of the world’s greatest footballers will display their skills and look forward to bring home the trophy and they will also be keen on setting new records along the way.

Here is a list of of records that may be very difficult for this players to break:

1. HIGHEST ATTENDANCE IN A WORLD CUP MATCH

The highest attendance for a FIFA World Cup game was set in 1950 in Brazil at the Maracana Stadium as 173,830 people watched the final between Brazil and Uruguay.

Uruguay lifted the Jules Rimet trophy after beating the host Brazil 2-1. This record will be very difficult to break due to the fact that modern day stadiums aren’t as big as they used to be.

2. YOUNGEST COACH TO MANAGE A WORLD CUP SIDE

This record is held by Argentina’s Juan Jose Tramutola, who was 27 years and 267 days old when his Argentina side played France at the 1930 World Cup.

This record will be very difficult to break because most of the countries usually appoint managers with experience rather than young aspiring coaches.

3. MOST GOALS SCORED IN A WORLD CUP MATCH

Oleg Salenko holds the record for the most goal scored in a single match at the FIFA World Cup after he scored five goals against Cameroon at the 1994 World Cup in USA.

8. FASTEST RED CARD IN A WORLD CUP MATCH

9. MOST CONSECUTIVE WINS IN A WORLD CUP

Brazil hold the record for the most consecutive wins after winning 11 straight matches from the 2002 World Cup to the 2006 World Cup.

Brazil won the 2002 World Cup on their way into setting this record, after beating Germany 2-0 in the final.

10. MOST CONSECUTIVE LOSSES IN A WORLD CUP

Mexico hold this record after the lost 9 straight matches from 1930-1958. The streak started with a 4-1 defeat against France in 1930 and ended with a 3-0 defeat to Sweden at the 1958 finals.

Only one out of this record can be broken, that is if defending champions France can go all the way to the finals again, they might eclipse Brazil’s consecutive win record of 11.
