Tiwa Savage’s ‘controversial’ Dress in Viral Video: Her Critics Need to Understand 2 Major Things

Without any doubt, Tiwa Savage is well respected & highly valued as a female music artist in Nigeria; but, perhaps, she is also one of the most criticized female celebrities especially when it concerns her modes of dressing. Currently, as I write this piece, a short video of Tiwa Savage is trending on social media, and of course it is related to the choice of dress she decided to slay.
Apparently, in the video, she was captured in a moment where she was enjoying a party-like mood; and, a lady was seen teasing Tiwa for her choice of ‘sekxy’ dress which was vividly side-slit, and exposing a part of her backside. Expectedly, Tiwa is already getting huge backlash over her choice of ‘sekxy’ dress, and some critics online are not even holding back their strong opinions.
However, even though I am not really a fan of Tiwa Savage, I want to boldly say that she did NOTHING WRONG by slaying the side-slit dress as seen in the short video. And, for the people who are heavily criticizing her, there are actually 2 major things that those set of critics need to adequately understand, as highlighted below:
(1) Tiwa Savage is a grown adult:
Last time I checked Tiwa’s age (and that was actually some few minutes ago, as I write this article), she is a 42-year-old woman; and, obviously, a woman of her age is a grown adult, and thus I believe she owes nobody any apology for whatever dress she wears. From my objective point of view, she is entitled to slay or wear whatever she feels comfortable in, as long as it is not against any major sanity.
(2) The mood captured in the video was party-like and informal:
Quite interestingly, Tiwa’s mood was captured in an apparent party-like circumstance, and that automatically makes it an informal situation. And, I want to believe that she was certainly not expected to wear something ‘serious’ to a party gathering. Again, from my objective view, there is nothing wrong with Tiwa to have chosen to wear ‘something light’ such as the side-slit dress, particularly, to blend with the party atmosphere as seen in the video.
